Usage Parameters
Sensor Input: Supports two independent eddy current sensor inputs. The standard measuring ranges of different types of sensors are as follows: PR6422/… is 1mm; PR6423/… is 2mm; PR6424/… is 4mm; PR6425/… is 4mm; PR6426/… The optional range is 8, 12, 16 or 20 mm. The frequency range of these sensors is 0-10Hz, and the overall linearity error is less than 0.25%. Signal Output: The transmitter provides two optional 0/4-20mA.
Current Output: Each channel is used for the corresponding input, or as an output for the maximum value of dual-channel measurement. Suitable for electrical situations up to 500Ω, short-circuit and open-circuit protection are provided. In addition, there are two auxiliary voltage outputs (2-10V), each corresponding to the input signal, for testing, analysis and diagnosis. Other outputs include an "OK" status output and two limit outputs.
Power supply: The EPRO MMS3210 uses a redundant power supply with a nominal voltage of 18…24…31.2VDC. The transmitter circuit is electrically isolated from the power supply via a DC/DC converter and consumes about 100mA and 2.5W at 24V.
Environmental conditions: The sensor is designed to operate in harsh industrial environments. The housing is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum, has an IP65 protection rating, and is designed according to DIN40050 and IEC144 CE certification. It exhibits good resistance to electromagnetic interference and complies with EN55011 and EN50082-2 standards. The operating temperature is in the range of -20…+80°C, the storage temperature is -30…+90°C, and the permissible relative humidity is 0…95% without condensation. It can also withstand 20G/2ms shock and 5G @ 60 Hz vibration.
Product Features
Signal conversion: The EPRO MMS3210 is designed to convert the input signals of two independent eddy current sensors (PR6422/…, PR6423/…, PR6424/…, PR6425/… and PR6426/…) into two independent output signals proportional to shaft displacement. This allows accurate measurement and monitoring of axial displacement, shaft position, thermal expansion, radial displacement, thrust bearing position and valve position.
Self-monitoring: A built-in “self-test” circuit allows the transmitter to continuously monitor the sensor signal, the connection wires between the sensor and the module, and the supply voltage. If a fault occurs, the logical “OK” output will change state and a change in the current output from 4-20mA to 0mA will immediately indicate a problem.
Flexible configuration: The initial settings of the EPRO MMS3210 can be adjusted via toggle switches and rotary switches. Although the factory settings are configured with the most common operating modes, the unit is also open to factory customization, providing great flexibility for different applications.
Limit detection: Yellow and red warning lights in dual-channel mode monitor the characteristic values of channels 1 and 2 respectively. In single-channel mode, limits can be set, with yellow lights indicating warning and red lights indicating danger mode. The entire span is from 0 to the full-scale limit; this allows precise control and monitoring of measured values.
Applications
The EPRO MMS3210 is suitable for large and small steam turbines, fans, blowers, compressors, gearboxes, centrifuges, pumps and coal mills. The transmitter is suitable for large equipment in power plants, refineries and chemical plants, and in combination with fieldbuses, PLCs, host computers and networks, it can operate as a stand-alone monitor for small turbomachinery with only a few measuring points.
